Increased number of people allowed per floor

Description of the fire engineering challenge:

  • The number of people allowed per floor is determined by the distance to and the size of the existing emergency exits. Often the fire department will not have access to all windows, such as the ones in the back alley/back yard, and therefore these cannot be counted as exits.

Klejngaard Safety can solve the challenge and simultaneously provide:

  • Possible approval of more people per floor, which is very desirable for restaurants, bars, hotels etc.
  • Optimal usage of existing square meters while increasing safety.

EXAMPLE
In an older building, the owner wishes to establish a restaurant and bar, this is not economically profitable due to the limited number of people allowed per floor due to fire regulations. We can increase this number while increasing the safety.
